Abaca face masks now available in Catanduanes

VIRAC, Catanduanes – A handicraft entrepreneur here has come up with an eco-friendly alternative to disposable and reusable cloth face masks as protection against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Teresita Sebastian, owner of Ody’s Homecraft in Barangay Valencia here, has re-purposed her production by creating abaca face masks which can be availed for only P20 a piece.

Catanduanes State U opens 'Take or Share Booth' for lockdown-affected families

VIRAC, Catanduanes – Catanduanes State University (CSU) has found a unique way, Sunday, to help people in times of need during the enhanced community quarantine.

The “Catanduanes Bayanihan Movement: Take or Share Booth” was launched by CSU President Dr. Minerva Morales.

Russian embassy fetches 4 stranded nationals in Catanduanes

VIRAC, Catanduanes – The Russian Embassy has fetched on Monday, March 30, four of its nationals Russian, who have been stranded in the province since the implementation of Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine.

Provincial Tourism Officer Carmel Garcia confirmed that the tourists were staying in Baras, Catanduanes, beginning March 4, before President Duterte ordered the enhanced community quarantine that led to a halt of all forms of public transportation.
